2024/03 Reliable particle sizing in vaccine formulations using advanced dynamic light scattering
Date: 21.03.2024
LS Instruments is proud to announce the publication of ground-breaking research from its collaboration with Swiss global leader in contract research, development, and manufacturing (CRO/CDMO) Solvias.
In a comprehensive benchmarking study, LS Instruments' advanced and patented Modulated 3D light scattering technology has demonstrated unparalleled advantages in the analysis of concentrated nanoemulsions such as those typically used as adjuvants in vaccines.
This ground-breaking work focuses on the precise characterisation of particle sizes within highly concentrated and turbid Addavax.
“These results not only underline the power and precision of LS Instruments’ technology, but also open up interesting possibilities in formulation development and quality control of undiluted products”, confirms Dario Leumann, CEO of LS Instruments.
The use of 3D Modulated DLS has three key advantages compared to classical DLS technologies:
(1) Preservation of Sample Integrity: One of the primary benefits of measuring the original, undiluted sample is the preservation of its integrity.
(2) Increased Relevance of Data for Real-World Applications: Analyzing samples in their original, concentrated form provides data that is more relevant for real-world applications.
(3) Efficiency and Practicality in Research and Quality Control: Measuring samples directly without the need for dilution streamlines the workflow, saving time and resources.
